Patrick Dempsey Joins Transformers 3

Transformers 3 just got a little more interesting. Back in March, Michael Bay revealed two-time Oscar nominee John Malkovich (In the Line of Fire, Places in the Heart), Oscar winner Frances McDormand (Fargo), and Ken Jeong (The Hangover, Community) had signed up for Transformers 3 along with returning Transformers stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, and Josh Duhamel. Now Entertainment Weekly's reporting Transformers 3 (the working title) just got a little McDreamy. Patrick Dempsey (Grey's Anatomy) has been recruited for Transformers duty, giving women a little something to look at while the men are all ogling Fox.

According to EW, Dempsey will be playing Megan Fox's boss. Fox's character has a boss? I didn't know that character even had a job other than to change clothes at bizarre times, pout and pose... How much actual screen time Dempsey will have is unknown right now, but EW says his role is "significant to the plot".

Transformers 3 shoot this summer in LA, Chicago, Washington DC, Florida, Texas, Africa, Moscow, and China.

Patrick Dempsey is currently working on the comedy Flypaper for director Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin). The 44 year old actor also has The Art of Racing in the Rain, based on the bestselling book (which is one of my personal favorite novels), in the works.
